Booking & Ordering FAQs

Planning a wedding or a party involves a lot of moving parts. I want to make the food and cake process as smooth as possible for you.

Below are answers to the most common questions I receive from clients when ordering for an event in the Central Upper Peninsula area—from booking deposits and tasting appointments to delivery details. If you don’t see your answer here, just ask!

When To Book

We recommend booking as soon as you have a date set.

We require a minimum of 4 weeks notice for most events.
Rush orders can incur a rush fee.

Platters, cake stands, and table decor is not included. All items will be boxed unless specified. Other packaging may be available for additional charge.

Deposit & Payment Methods

We require a $500 retainer & signed contract to hold your date. Your final headcount and balance are due 7 days prior to the event. We also offer flexible payment plans, if this is something you are interested in setting up please let us know!

A set-up fee of $35/hour will be included in your total, anything beyond the agreed upon times can/will be invoiced after the event.

What areas do we serve?

I am located in the Upper Peninsula, in the small village of Blaney Park, on a 19 acre property. We provide catering and baked good services locally around the Manistique area, as well as through the greater central UP. We are more than willing to travel to you!

When you book with us we block off three to four days around your date to ensure we are able to give you and your event our full attention. We tend to rent a room or home within a reasonable distance from the venue to ensure we are available for anything that may come up. Please remember and utilize this! We want your event to go as smoothly as possible. It may seem silly to have your caterer go after more flowers or bobby pins, but we are always willing to help when we are able to!!

A note from my little kitchen:

The Cake Lady At 19 Acres is a home based business operating under the cottage law. All baked goods are made in a kitchen not inspected by MDARD. For all catered events, we operate out of a commercial kitchen & deliver to venue. Prices are subject to change at any time.
